When to cut a picture in half
Splitting an image in half is handy for before-and-after photos, two-page scans of a book, side-by-side comparisons and dual-monitor wallpapers. It also turns a wide panorama into two posts.
The tool cuts exactly through the middle by default. If the subject is off-center, drag the cut line. Both halves update as you drag, and you can see their sizes in pixels before downloading.
Vertical or horizontal?
A vertical split (1 row, 2 columns) gives a left and a right half. A horizontal split (2 rows, 1 column) gives a top and a bottom half. Switch between them with the 1×2 and 2×1 presets in the settings.
