How to make a seamless carousel

  1. Add a wide photo or design. For 3 slides in 4:5, use a 12:5 image (e.g. 3240×1350 px)
  2. Set Columns to the number of slides you want (Instagram allows up to 20)
  3. Check the preview. Every slide gets the same width
  4. Download the ZIP and upload the slides in order: 1, 2, 3…

Sizes for seamless carousels

A carousel shows one slide at a time. When the slides come from one wide image, swiping feels like panning across a single picture. This works for Instagram, LinkedIn document posts and Facebook.

Instagram carousel slides are usually 1080×1350 (4:5) or 1080×1080 (1:1). Multiply the slide width by the number of slides:

  • 3 portrait slides: 3240×1350 px
  • 4 square slides: 4320×1080 px
  • 5 portrait slides: 5400×1350 px

Unlike the Instagram grid, carousel slides are uploaded in normal order, starting with slide 1.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the panorama carousel splitter tool.

How many slides can a carousel have?

Instagram currently allows up to 20 photos per carousel post. The tool splits into up to 20 columns.

Why do my slides not line up?

Make sure every slide has the same size and that Instagram does not crop them. Use the image sizes listed above, and pick the same aspect ratio for all slides in the Instagram app.

Can I also split vertically for Stories?

Yes. Use rows instead of columns, for example 3×1, to cut a tall image into stacked parts.
